How did you choose your major/s?
I initially was only declared as a political science major my freshman year, however after seeing the overlap between that major and global studies, I decided that the global studies route was a perfect fit. Not to mention, I had an interest in immigration law, and I figured in order to have cultural competence and a well-rounded understanding of global affairs, that global studies would be perfect.
Post grad plans?
I am proud to say that I will be attending law school in the fall at Yale Law school. Go Bulldogs! (If you are interested in attending law school feel free to reach out to me! I would love to be a resource! cloncke2@huskers.unl.edu)
Study Abroad, internship or unique experiences?
One of the most impactful works I’ve done as an undergrad had has been my work at the Asian Community and Cultural Center as a citizenship intern. I found this position through my connections in the global studies and human rights and humanitarian affairs department and completely fell in love with it. My job was to help green card recipients study for their naturalization test, and it was quite a joy. I recommend anyone looking for an internship to definitely scope out the positions at the Asian community and cultural center.
